Some of Victoria’s most dedicated dental professionals were honoured at the 2016 Public Oral Health Awards last night for their commitment to public dental services.
The awards, presented by Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV), are given annually to dental professionals and volunteers who go above and beyond to care for those Victorians most in need of dental treatment and care.
Here are the 2016 winners:
Community Oral Health Champion: Diana Brown, EACH Social and Community Health
Public Dental Clinic of the Year: Ballarat Health Services
Oral Health Project of the Year: Keeping Kids Smiling, Link Health and Community
Star of Public Dentistry: Dr Martin Hall, North Richmond Community Health
DHSV Chief Executive Officer, Dr Deborah Cole, said the nominees were of high calibre and showcased the meaningful work done across the state.
“I’m honoured to be working alongside exceptional people who are doing great things for public oral health in Victoria,” said Dr Cole.
“Congratulations to all the winners and finalists. There is so much passion and talent within the public oral health sector and it is great to be able to recognise that important work.”
The awards were presented at the 2016 DHSV Annual General Meeting at The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne in Carlton.
Host of 7TWO’s Vasili’s Garden, Vasili Kanidiadis, was also announced as DHSV’s 2017 Smile of the Year at the event.
