oral health for better healthThe decision by the COAG Health Council to endorse the new National Oral Health Plan 2015-2024 signals a strong message that oral health is an important part of general health.

The plan provides strategic direction and a framework for collaborative action over the next ten years for focus group such as oral health promotion, children, older people, special needs and remote access needs.

Because most dental diseases are completely preventable, we need to focus on early intervention and prevention to keep enjoying good oral health.

Oral health affects not only the individual, but also the broader health system and economy.

I look forward to working with all major stakeholders to progress this plan.
