What is NAIDOC?
NAIDOC celebrations are held around Australia in July each year to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life.
This year NAIDOC celebrations are being held from 6-13 July.

About NAIDOC Week
NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee. Its origins can be traced to the emergence of Aboriginal groups in the 1920′s which sought to increase awareness in the wider community of the status and treatment of Indigenous Australians. Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV) and our Diversity team is passionate about reducing the huge gaps that exist between the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the rest of the population.Our Diversity Team works closely with Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations and the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service to help patients through the dental health system.
