Victorian seniors are reminded that they are eligible for discounted denture services, including general and specialist dental care.

The reminder comes after a report on A Current Affair on Thursday night which said many Australian seniors were unaware of subsidies, deals and discounts available to them.

Pensioner concession card holders in Victoria pay just $26 per visit to public dental services, including The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne. The cost is capped at $104 for a complete, general course of care.

Fees for specialist services at The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne depend on the treatment provided, but are capped at $312 for a course of care.

Fees for dentures start at $63 each, and are capped at $126 for a full upper and lower acrylic denture.

In addition, free treatment for public dental services is available for a number of eligible patients at teaching clinics across the state.

If your local community dental clinic cannot provide you with general care, you may be given a voucher to receive treatment from a private dentist. The vouchers are limited to general care, but you will only be required to pay the same fee that you would pay at the community dental clinic.
