Smiles 4 Miles celebrates a major milestone
The Smiles 4 Miles program has made an incredible impact over its 20 years of service delivery to improve the oral health of children and their families.
We recently visited the Wendouree Children’s Centre to celebrate the 20th year anniversary of Smiles 4 Miles with the Member for Wendouree, Juliana Addison MP.
Over the past two decades, this incredible program has reached nearly 600,000 children across 9,500 early childhood services throughout the state.
Smiles 4 Miles partners with local community organisations who support early childhood services to create engaging and fun learning experiences based on the program’s key messages: Eat Well, Drink Well, and Clean Well.
We spoke with Laura who has two children enrolled at the centre. She mentioned how the program has empowered her children with simple strategies to encourage healthy habits.
In the past 10 years alone, the program has also trained 6,500 non-oral health professionals, building their capacity to promote oral health in their local communities.
A huge thank you to all our partners across the state for being part of our amazing journey!
