Making oral health fun

We are pleased to introduce our brand new oral care tooth packs that include oral health messaging and how-to-brush instructions.

Children and families have a brighter way to brush thanks to the fantastic new oral care tooth packs developed by our Population Health team.

These convenient, pre-packaged sets come in colourful sleeves that not only make tooth brushing more fun but also include important oral health messages, brushing instructions, and links to additional resources.

The vibrant packs were the creative vision of Health Promotion Officer Tanya Gunnion. She developed a set of resources that are as unique as they are useful.

Let’s unpack this

Three types of packs have been created for distribution through Population Health’s programs:

  • Child pack: a child toothbrush and children’s low-fluoride toothpaste
  • Family pack: 2 x adult toothbrushes, 1 x standard fluoride toothpaste, 2 x child toothbrushes, and 1 x children’s low-fluoride toothpaste
  • Adult pack: an adult toothbrush and standard fluoride toothpaste

Development to execution

The process of introducing the playful new pack designs involved refining the all-important oral health messaging and finalising the graphics.

“The packs took several months to complete, even after we settled on the theme. A working group determined the final messaging on the packs, and I iterated on the illustrations until the final design was reached,” said Tanya.

Packs for targeted partners

The eye-catching packs are sure to be a hit with children and families who receive them via Population Health’s specially targeted programs.

“The packs will mainly be provided to early childhood services participating in Smiles 4 Miles, some maternal and child health nurses, supported playgroups, eligible library storytime programs, and early parenting centres,” said Tanya.
