Abstract applications are now open

The 2024 DHSV Public Oral Health Conference will be held at Melbourne Conference and Exhibition Centre on Tuesday 13 August.

Conference attendees are invited to submit an abstract to showcase the breadth of oral health research and policy effort to improve oral health in Victorian and across Australia. Submissions are open to all conference attendees, including DHSV staff, community dental agency staff, university staff and students, and other health professionals.

Your topic of interest should align with at least one of DHSV’s Strategic Direction Pillars:

  • Empower: Focus on prevention and early intervention
  • Care: Deliver world-class oral and dental healthcare
  • Lead: Reform, build and improve oral healthcare through key partnerships.

Accepted abstracts can be delivered in either oral or poster presentation formats.

Oral presentations

Oral presentations for accepted abstracts are short 10-minute presentations that describe the results of the research and policy work conducted, and the implications of the project. These presentations can foster dialogue on emerging research and policy evidence, collaborative activities, and diverse perspectives. In an open forum, participants can learn from each other in this format.

Poster presentations

Poster presentations are visual presentations of research and policy work findings that will be displayed at the conference throughout the day. By using clearly communicated information in written and graphic form, participants can explore research and policy work in more detail at their own leisure.
